I recently purchased the kit from Triumph with the chain and both sprockets. I assume the chain is the OEM DID x-ring. Has anyone else installed a DID chain themselves? If so, what rivet tool did you use? I found the DID tool on eBay for $108. Is that reasonable or can I use a generic tool?

Thanks,
Fred

I can't see why you would need to use a DID specific chain tool. As far as I am aware their chains are fundamentally no different from any other out there as to the actual mechanics.

I installed a DID X-ring chain on my T509 using a Motion Pro press to get the master link side plate on, then piened the rivet with a hammer and punch, backing up the link with a sledge. I'm too cheap to get the rivet tool, but it would make it a lot easier.
