I replaced the rear pads on my '05 Tiger with OEM pads.

The old pads were fine, with some life left in them, until I picked it up from the dealer. I also noticed dirt lodged in the rear brake lever foot pedal hole! The lever was bent as well. Then I noticed the rear brake lever had excessive travel to stop. I checked the pads when i changed the tires and all that was left was brass on both pads.
I haven't taken the bike back since.

Back to the point - the pads are rubbing when I ride.

Seems like they're too close, but perhaps they'll self-adjust?

The wheel spins and stops when the brakes are applied on the stand and a slight rubbing is heard. However, on the road, the noise/rubbing seems worse.

Is there some reference adjustment point for new bads after the old ones wear down that far?

Hi TiggerTwo, the pads will take a few hundered miles to bed in. when it was on the stand you said the wheel spun ok, right !! if so it sounds fine to me, just recheck the fluid level and next time your out on the bike give the rear pedal a dab now and again to help bed it in, do NOT stamp on it

I felt a little binding while turning slowly into a parking space.

Went over to the a friends shop and I spun the wheel by hand as many listened for high spots or constant rubbing. We noted one or two high spots. We all immediately looked at one another and said warped rotor. We then removed the caliper to re-inspect the work. Everything seems ok.

But, yes, it does spin ok - If one approves of the high-spots. They're not super intense but it's questionable, to me. The "bedding" you speak of makes sense, but, wouldn't the pad's bed/form to the irregular surface if it exists?
Kinda thinking I may have a rotor, alignment or bearing issue. But I'd like to better understand what's going on, particularly after the abuse it got at the dealer.

It's an icky feeling, in my gut - sort of. Because, it is currently due for the 12K, but have reservations about taking to the (any) dealer - even if the warranty runs out in 8 days.

Not sure what approach to take right now.

Walt

if you think its a warped disc or high spots, get intouch with the dealer before the warranty runs out !! at least they will have a record of the problem. Triumph may replace the disc.

Could it be the pistons in the caliper are sticking. Just had new pistons and seals on my rear for the same problem. Rear brake constantly rubbing. Done under warranty. Chck the movement of the pistons as they should ease off when you take the foot off the pedal and spin freely

Let's get back to the "dirt lodged in ..." and "bent". Are you saying the dealer crashed your bike while they had it for service? I'd be livid. Could you now have a misalignment between the rear caliper mounting bracket and the swingarm? As in, something is bent?
