My Tiger seems to get pretty hot near my right calf. Not unbearable but I feel a need to move my leg out and away from the engine.
My temp gauge reads normal and I know my fan is working. Just seems too hot.
The temperature's have been, fairly, mild, here in Grand Rapids, MI., this past week, mostly in the mid to upper 70's.
Has anyone noticed this on their Tiger? Perhaps it's a Tiger trait?
Thanks,
Walt

Walt,
Mine exhibits the same characteristic in warmer weather but I attributed it to prevailing winds and my direction of travel going home from work (north travel, west wind, right leg gets warm). Maybe you're on to something.

Mine is the opposite - the gauge reads higher than I would really like but the engine never seems particularly warm.

Has anyone tried Royal Purple's, "Purple Ice", with positive results?
For that matter, has anyone tried the the Royal Purple's, "Max-Cycle" oil, in either the 10W40 and 20W50 viscosities?
BTW- Tyrebyter, I have ~300 mi on the Sync's now. Warm-up quick, very sticky, sport, quick turn-in and not bad on the gravel. Running 36F(2.5), 42R(2.9)

Thanks for pointing that out. I had never noticed it before, but like a noise you have never heard before, once you notice it's there it starts to annoy.
Today was quite a hot day by UK standards and I must admit my right calf was warmer. If you look there is much more engine on that side like the clutch and starter. There's not as much space around your leg and I dont think you catch the cool fresh air as much.

I have noticed some heat radiating from either side depending on the cross winds and ambient temperatures. Doesn't seem to affect my feet so much as my lower legs. There's a lot of hot things down there like the exhaust which could be channeling up your inseam. I notice it less with taller, padded boots.

As you noticed, there is an engine down there by your leg. I have also noticed it, and it seems to be a Tiger trait. I've seen other Tigers (at the dealer's, and on a trip to Seattle), and they also had engines down by where your leg would be. In my opinion, these engines will get warm after a period of riding, and the heat may be noticable.
Don't ride so much in flip-flops and a swimsuit, and you probably won't notice it.
