I was directed to this website: www.rideteamtriumph.com from reading another post on this Tiger board, and saw that they offer a factory service manual (actual two manuals, representing two VIN ranges). There are no details about the book, but I would assume that it is new Tiger-related.
My question is, has anyone on this board ordered/used this particular manual? If so, how good is it? For $82.40, I'd like to get another opinion or two before ordering. I don't see it available on the Triumph website.
I have an older Hinckley Triumph service manual that covers all models and was published in 1995. It was handy for my '97 Thunderbird (before I sold it), but I'll likely pass it on to a buddy who also has a '97 TBird. That book had no photos in it, but lots of half-decent illustrations.
Any comments welcome!
Gerry

So no one here has the Triumph Factory Service Manual for the new Tiger? I expected several replies on this.
There's no description of the manual, nor any sample pages to view on the website. There is only a picture of the cover, which doesn't reveal anything.

Hi Gerry -
The last and only version was printed in 2001.
Interestingly enough is that the it has never been updated to address the "alloy-rim" tigers. In fact, if you look at your tiger's wiring you'll find open-ended termination's which could have had a use on the previous, spoked models - not sure how far back that would go. However, I've found the schematics to be accurate.

Sorry, this slightly off topic but I had a look at the PDF user guide on this site, which relates to the 2005-on Tiger. Interestingly, the section on chain adjustment repeats what is stated in the workshop manual for the earlier Tigers, which is to check free play when the bike is on the side stand - but the accompanying diagram shows it on the centre stand...........
One day I'm going to measure the slack in both positions just to see what the difference is.

I puchased the Tirumph Tiger manual. It does NOT cover the 2005 and later versions. It is excellent on showing Disassembly and Assembly, however the front suspension section is for the older models. Still a good investment. Two dealers in Texas indicated Triumph would not be printing a service manual for the 2005 versions.

I bought a CD on eBay that contained all the microfiche parts lists - accessories, too - for the Tiger. It, combined with the Clymer service manual, gives me all the resources I need to keep'er going strong! One of the best things is being able to know exactly, by part number, which part you need from the dealer. check out http://stores.ebay.com/Fiche-Man
Since you're reading this, I assume you have a computer.....

Most of the Triumph stuff seems to be based on VIN, not model year. They stopped using Lucas electrics, but need to do something uniquely English!

I've found the Triumph Service Manual available as an accessory on their website.
