My cat '05 has almost 13000km and I realised that it has an oil loss of 300ml every 2000km.Iasked my dealer and said that it is not sth to worry about .After checking it he advised me to change a seal-ring in the engine block (there is an oil fuse in the left side of the engine that leads the oilvapours in the air filter box).Anyone with the same problem?

Not the same problem, but a different leak. I discovered my kick-stand had developed a slight weeping. It bolts to the side of the block, and one of the bolts was a tiny bit loose. No problem; just took a wrench and a second to put an end to it. Since it's a stress point, what with the weight of the bike always on the thing, it bears regular checking. Everyone else have this problem?

I phoned Triumph U.K. about this because I thought my '05 consumed a lot too.

They told me that 1 ltr/1000 mi is a maximum acceptable consumption. So you're doing good at about a 1.3 that consumtion! :-D

I, too, noticed a bit of oil droplet formation near the kickstand but actually on the small bolt located on the rear, bottom-left, of the oil pan/sump cover. 'Course the bike had been leaning that way on the stand.

I've washed the bike and cleaned up the area so I can take a look at it from time to time.

Thinking that I should go around the bike and tighten up the bolts.

I've been checking the oil at least every other day.

Walt
