Hi

1st time posting so be gentle with me !!!!

I have bought a new rear tyre (Metz Tourace again) for my Tiger 955i spoked wheel model and went to take out the rear wheel only to find that the right 19mm bolt was seized solid and every time I tried to turn it all it was doing is spinning the inside of the wheel .... I put the left 19mm bolt back on again and tightened it but again when I tried to loosen the right bolt it just keeps spinning.
How do I stop this from happening ??? If I try to use a spanner on the left one to hold it in place while loosening the right one it just automaticaly loosens the left because it is the free one! I have tried WD40 to ease it but to no avail ARGHHHHHHHHH

Why oh why do thy not use a spindle type system !!!!!!

Any help asap please

On mine I loosen the left hand bolt most of the way use it to push the axle out the right side. Then remove the left bolt and slip the axle out the right hand side. Also My bike is 19mm one side and 22mm on the other side. I think you are OK just confused

Just an update

Thanks NortonCharlie for you help .... I was confused ... but not about the nut sizes.

I got confused thinking that because a bolt came out of the left side I also thought that the right would be exactly the same ..... thus I thought that there was no spindle going all the way through as is usual on any bike I had before so you can imagine my surprise when I followed your advice and ended up with a strange bolt "into" bolt setup and not the usual nut "onto" bolt setup hahahaha confused yet yourself.

Many thanks Rat forum for getting me a place to get my headache relieved without alcohol :-D

Now going to get that new rubber on WAYHAYYYYYYY

Glad it all worked out. It can be a trick getting it all back together mostly a matter of not dropping the spacers when getting the wheel back into position. I sometimes pull the rear caliper so I have one less thing to line up, but it isn't necessary. I usually dab a little grease on the spacers to help hold them in place and lube the seals.

Thats exactly what I done although next time I will get a helping hand to help align everything as it was a curse every time the caliber side spacer keep dropping out when touched even with a dab of grease

Thanks again.
Until next time Cheers :chug:

I use a ratcheting tie down strap over the seat and through the wheel to help lift and hold the rear wheel in place while putting in the spacers and axel. Makes it a lot easier when you don't have another person around to help.
