Just curious if anyone has upgrade to an aftermarket Stator/RR.

If so, would you please provide the detail?

Thanks,
Walt

Thanks BaldEagle. I PM'd and replied to their posts a couple days ago. Meanwhile I've found 3 sources for the stator and R/R.

I have the part numbers and the technical data I needed. Now I'm deciding whether I want to do it or not.

I have contacted Triumph UK twice regarding the ACTUAL power available for additional accessories, such as heated gear or driving lights, etc...

They only commit to the rating as specified at the accessory plug. so 10A fused = 120W.

Of course that's after all the stock system consumption such as headlights, turn signals, ECU, Fuel pump, heated grips etc...

So what the Tiger is left with off the stock alternator and regulator is 120W.

For me that is sufficient for a couple extra 55W PIAA's and 10W worth of heated gear.

The G-175, RR-49(electrex stator, r/r pn's) or
the ESG571, ESR503 (ElectroSport pn also called ElectrexUSA stator, r/r pn's) This system supposedly provides and supports a 30 - 40 % increase in available power.

The folks, here on the forum, that have installed them have had failures in the past posts. I am awaiting their current opinion since the subject matter hasn't been brought up for a while. Perhaps it worked out for them.

I'm awaiting their replies...

Thanks - Walt

Hey all,
Yes, I had a couple problems with the ElectroSport stator. 1st one fried in a few weeks. They replaced it. It seems to burn up a wire every 2,000 miles or so. Each time, I just restrip the burnt wire, and replace the connectors. This 'fix' lasts a few thousand miles, and it'll happen again. Like I posted before, I already replaced the battery and regulator. My theory was the ElectroSport stator puts out more voltage/current than the stock regultor can deal with, so the regulator just 'rejects' part of the phase of voltage/current - and eventually burns up one of the three wires.
Ok. Here's the funny (NOT) part. So I figured what the heck, I'll replace the regulator with the ElectroSport, and have everything matched up, and happy, RIGHT? WRONG. The company no longer list ANY products for Triumph. Go figure. I have e-maield them and called, and their reply was "no, we've never had ANY problems with the Triumph parts, just weren't selling enough of them." I call ********.
Soooo...I carry a battery tender, crimpers, and connectors on ALL my long rides over 2-300 miles. Shouldn't have to do that with a 'new' bike, eh?
I know I am one of the exceptions. Most don't have ANY charging problems. My '02 Daytona hasn't had a hint of troubles. It's just being one of the unlucky ones which sucks.
