Ignition barrel

Anyone know if just the electrical part of ign barrel is available as key works ok on mine but you sometimes have to flick the key on/off a few times to get the ign/start up also with Triumph modular construction would a 06 Sprint ign barrel be the same as 05 Tiger

Nope, you'll have to replace the entire module.

Who doesn't like additional keys?! My 955i has 4!

Hi, I have had problems with the electrical side of my ignition switch, resulting in losing indicators, horn and brake lights, it took a little while to find, due to being intermitant. By twisting the key against the ignition contacts with a 'jiggle' would get everything back working again. I sprayed some electrical contact spray into the ignition barrel and worked the ignition a few times and,"touch wood" it is working fine at present. I will probably have to replace it eventually, but work on the idea that a drop of routine maintenance may keep it going for a bit longer.

Yeah I have already soaked it in any hole and thru Key slot with wd and left it so I might be lucky, been too damp yesterday and today to try

Had a problem just like yours. With some care you can take the back off the covers the wires where they attach the contacts. On mine a contact had come off and the bike would switch on and off when turning the bars.
Resoldered and all is good. Worth checking as Triumph over charge for their electrical items.

After an ignition power glitch or two earlier this year; wiggle key and then it worked, I thought I'd be alright too. I ended up calling for recovery when I was in the south of France...

Sounds like I'd better check it out before it develops into a big problem rather than an intermitant niggle!
