'95 Sprag prob, Where do I get the parts?

I would think it's been covered, but I'm not finding it. My '95 Tiger spag did it's deed, and now I need to find the parts. Can someone please tell me where to get the (modified?) parts for this job? I'm in SC, USA.

I'll be doing a photo journal for this project, although it will start with it hanging from a frame I had to make. With fairings and tank already removed.

At 34,600 miles, should I re-ring the pistons? any other mods while I'm in there?

Any help is greatly appreciated. I can't stand to see it sitting in the garage.

Of course, if anyone has a good engine for sale...... especially a fuel injected model, I'm interested.


OK, I just found SWare's pictures of the Thuderbird engine job. Thanks so much! That's a big help, and I'm ready to start. Still need the other info though, so if anyone can help.....

As you hav`nt had a reply here - try TigerTriple.Com there`s loads of Steamer riders, mainly from the US too.

i've got a 96 tiger w/ 55k on it. the compression is good in all 3 cylinders (about the same in each) and the valves are still good.
on the other hand, i dissassembled a 96 trophy w/ 50k on the clock, that had worn out rings, half the valves leaked and the head gasket was blown. i guess it depends on how the bike was treated.
if it was loved, 34k should be ok

forgot to mention this, all the older triumphs share a platform. its very likely that your sprag is the same sprag as the rest of 'em.
so if a check on bike bandit for part numbers from the different models revels identical part numbers, you can look on the classifieds and on ebay and the bike junkyard for lots of sprag clutches, at least lots from lots of triumph models.

Just about to finish a sprag replacement on a 98 Sprint.
Most the parts ordered from BikeBandit.com
However lurk around in the "sport and touring" forum here as well. its the same job Sprint Speed triple Adventure Tiger, don't matter.

There was also a fellow here who BOUGHT my old sprag and did a tutorial on how to REBUILD the darn thing for a fraction of buying a new one.... I'll see if I can find his info..... good luck, its a fun job

Almost done, I have to rebuild the carbs and i should have her back on the road.

Also Kitt NYC and Mot3 over in Sport and touring are a huge wealth of info and insight. (thanks guys) give em a look.
