well, in the last 12 months i've had my only two flats. the first was last october on my guzzi at about 70 mph. nothing spectacular just a gradual fishtailing of the bike. got off the highway, pulled a thin nail out of the rear tubeless tire, put in a plug, and inflated it with CO2 cartridges enough to get me to a gas station's compressor then rode home with no problems.
a week ago riding with some friends when the tiger's rear tire went flat. put the bike on the center stand, spotted small machine screw in center tread. discovered no correct wrench in tiger "tool kit"

. luckily beemer riding friend had wrench and KLR riding friend had a tube that would suffice. then it was time to break the tire bead by using the side stand. after MUCH work finally got that done. got old tube out, new tube in then started inflation with CO2 cartridges (also borrowed

). cartridge connections didn't cooperate and we didn't even come close to seating the bead. eventually a local guy came by, i threw the wheel in his pickup and inflated the tire in his garage.
SO, i've bought a bottle of slime, tubes for both tires, have a proper wrench, buncha CO2 cartridges (i'll buy a mini-compressor soon), and C-clamp for breaking the bead all of which i'm packing for a trip this weekend. my KLR buddy is taking a good hand air pump.
this virtually guarantees we'll have no flat tires!
