accessory socket wiring

I've sorted out power leads for my ipod and tomtom satnav running them through the accessory socket. There's power lighting up the LED on the tomtom powerlead but it's not charging. Does anyone know the polarity of the socket? I appear to have power but neither ipod or satnav are charging, both are still working so I can only assume they both have some level of numpty wiring protection.

Thanks for the response guys. I'm sure I've wired up as needed so maybe a wire has come off in the accesory socket for the ipod (2 wires in to 1 acc socket) and the tomtom hadn't dropped below 3/4 charge so wasn't needing to charge. I'll investigate further this weekend when I hopefully have some more time.
