Hi All,

Although I think I know where it is, could someone just confirm that the coolant drain plug for the cylinder head is on the front of the engine on the left side piston as you sit on the bike ??

Any tips on how to drain and fill the coolant system without getting any airlocks would be great too. I've done a search.

Would you use distilled or tap water ?

Hi Graeme,

Yes confirmed - that is the location. ( checked the manual )
Would personally use tap water. Distilled for battery top ups, usually sealed units now I know.

Can't help with anti airlock procedure, although I've read a very good description somewhere on the forum.

How often do you change the coolant on an '06 and isn't there an easier way than all this?

Don't know why Triumph couldn't figure out a drain that doesn't have coolant running all over the engine. Something like a car radiator drain one could attach a hose to.

The bubbles eventually bubble out.

Triumph recommends distilled water in a 50% solution. You can buy it premixed.

Better than my Land Rover Discovery where you have to take a hose off. As well as remove 2 totally inaccessible plugs......

The schedule that was referenced above didnt show a mileage to change the coolant or brake fluid. Hard to believe or did I miss something? How often do most do it on the 955 Tiger?
