New farkles - Gear change indicator & Inforad

Again, I'm playing on the generosity of you members.

I'm aware of previous threads for the Acumen Gear Change indicators; they seem to favour a position by the clock. My frequently used tank bag would block off the view though. Do you reckon the rear face of the brake reservoir would be ok?

More importantly, has anyone got a clever and elegant place for the Inforad speed camera gubbins? Particularly the receiver/aerial doings. Inforad recommend the front mudguard but I'm not happy routing a wire across it and up the forks. They say it needs line of sight of satellites. By that criteria the mudguard seems the best option. Next option appears to be the top yoke but that seems plain unsightly.

Ethereal and cosmic pints all round

i fitted an inforad some time ago and mounted the gubbings inside the right hand side panel, below seat. The antenna is mounted oh the top of the left hand pannier frame and the warning lamp is mounted up and over the instrument panel above the clock. This arrangement has worked fine for over 2 years.Hope this is of some help

It should be ok there, but it's gonna get in the way of fluid change. I'd be tempted to make up a small bracket and mount it on an extended screw for the mirror / brake lever so that the screw does up as normal, but there's enough thread left to mount the bracket and a stiffnut. The bracket can be made up small enough to be almost un-noticeable behind the gear indicator up and to one side of the mirror base. I mounted a switch on the clutch side this way without trouble.

Of course I expected a response within 5 minutes of the start of the work ;-)

The Inforad stuff went into the empty space under the rack. There's loadsa space and a switched live in there + 4 easy bolts gives access. The aerial went on the top yoke - best compromise I reckon. I did try every other possibility - especially the pannier frame but luggage and partner's legs would've hampered it's operation.

The Gear Change Indicator would've gone on a velcro mount on the side of the front brake reservoir but having spent something like 10 hours fitting the dam thing; carefully soldering every wire; checking for pulses on the speedo & rev counter; routing in all wires; re-clothing Tigger - ONLY TO FIND EITHER THE SPEEDO OR TACHO WIRE IS WRONG - it can wait til we return from the Isle of Man - off tomorrow. Thanks anyway.

I'm trying to fix a rev counter that thinks it's ok to read 4k with the engine off. Came back from the dealer like that.

I see you're in March, I'm over at Sawtry. Which dealer do you use?
