I've got a 2003 Tiger with what I think is a fuel pump going bad. I don't hear the buzzing noise when it primes like I should, it surges at steady throttle and sometimes burps a little at idle.

I found a used pump from a 2006 that I can get for half the price of new. Anybody know if it will work? They're listed as different part numbers, but that doesn't always mean anything.

In case anyone is wondering, the answer is YES.

The long answer is that the pump out of the 2006 is a tad longer and will not fit on the mounting brackets (probably why they are different part numbers). With a creative application of heat and a little bending, it will fit just fine. Now I just have to remember which fuel line goes on the top and which one goes on the bottom. Always forget that bit.
