Steamer forks clonking-what oil level

Hi, I've done a search and not found the specific answers, My 93 Steamer has clonking forks on small bumps on the rebound, I've read on here that later models suffer from this but do early Tigs do this as well, Bike has 48,000 miles on it, Ive had it 6 years and its just started doing it a year or so ago. I've changed the oil with the forks out and 130mm air gap
Does anyone know what this equates to in CC's of fork oil
I used 10W oil would it help to go to heavier oil
Thanks Chris
