Top extras are;
Bloody HUGE grin but you get that for free :-D
gel seat! ah the joys, erm :razz:
off road exhaust (and offroad tune)- why? the sound and it does, even by the seat of my uneducated pants, give a bit more power. excuse for buying (if needed), so them in cars hear me coming and get out of the way. It is not obnoxiously loud but let rip and they do know you are there.
heated grips will be next on mine.
Front mudguard extender helps keep the muck down ( see pic in my album).
I was going to fit a hugger to keep the shock a bit cleaner but because mine is lowered this wont fit! Come on NWS make one for lowered Tigers and I will buy>

David,
Thanks for the list. Mine includes all the same stuff (though not nec. in the same order!).
I'm curious about one thing: what is involved in "lowering" the Tiger, and why did you do it? I'm assuming it just had to do with comfortable inseam length, standing over the bike, stop lights, etc. How tall are you? Does it change the ergos, or are you just lowering the suspension? Did you notice an effect on handling? Center of gravity? etc. etc.
Thanks,

I am 5'11'' with a 32" inseam. as standard I could get my toes down on the shop floor. all very well but given a lot of roads over here have a camber, I could just see myself pull up at a set of traffic lights put foot down and realise i was nowhere near the road surface so mech. suggested dropping her.
dropped forks and turned the rear adjuster 180 degrees gives a 40mm drop. At this the chain is left as is and should cause no problems, although I have raised the back of the chain guard fractionally. If you drop the back you must drop the front as well or it gets floaty at speed and runs wide in the corners.
if you lower the rear by less than 40mm then you will need to shorten the chain or it will eat into the chain guide and eventually the swing arm.
i have not noticed any ground clearance issues by dropping 40mm. Ergos are unchanged except I dont have to worry at lights. I did need to chop the sidestand down but the centre one is left as standard. Only other problem encountered because of this is the inability to fit a hugger.

I'm curious: do you ever get out the GS any more, now that you have the Tiger?

No, not much. I bought the Tiger because the GS was so unreliable. It is good at what it's supposed to do. i.e. go anywhere, even quite seroius off-road. But I was always limping home from all around Europe.
Now that I'm happy that the Triumph is reliable with 20K on the clock the GS is being advertised in the BMW club Journal.
Any offers?
