I have to agree with big Stripey. All are good, but the gel seat is superb. Did 425miles non stop on Xmas eve following the directions on the garmin and the gel seat was sooooo comfy. All the other bits played their part, but comfort is the thing.
The big problem with the sports exhaust is SWMBO. ( You spent how much on a new exhaust when a new bike has one all ready.!!!!) I need a good answer to this one guys as so far I have not been convincing enough. Any help on this will be greatfully received. Ta. :-D

Paulie,

Fitting the can is easy. Two bolts and it's on, but Triumph have re-written the map for the Engine Control Management Unit, specifically for the 955i with the aftermarket can. It won't do any harm without, but with the tune!! boy will you notice the difference! It is a five minute job at the dealer. They just plug their 'game boy' in and bingo!

The K&N filter is a bit more difficult. It means a tank off job, and this is a bit of a handful on the Tiger. About an hour's work? (That's what it takes me anyway?)

If you don't want the hassle then wait until service and have it done then. However it does make a difference.

Your Tiger will be quick without having this done, surprisingly quick. But if you want that extra 'kick' then do the above.

10/10 for your choice of colour!

Spring can't come quick enough eh?

Jim

Nepetshegrey,

The exhaust is a poser, i agree.
I think the soultion is quite simple. It depends on how you ride your Tiger?. If you ride pretty hard and like the sportier side of the Tiger then you will appreciate the exhaust's benefits.

It does release several horse power, most of which you will find in the mid-range...whoosh!

The real difference is from about 3,500 rpm >> 6,000 rpm. It **** near pulls your arms off!. 4th gear becomes a really tall gear, pulling hard right through to the red line. It makes it a useful gear to 'hold' the bike on the power when in fast twisty roads etc.

If you ride less aggressively, then don't bother unless you want that gorgeous howl from the exhaust. I still get a stupid grin on my face when i go through a tunnel, hearing that noise! It is NOT like a Remus or Akrapovic can which are really loud. It is a subtle rumble that won't attract the attention of the fed's, unless they look really close.

If we can meet up next year you can take Bigstripey for a blat and you will see what i mean!

Cheers
Jim

Paulie,
Seeing that you're up in Alaska, with all those gravel roads, I would add some radiator guards to your list.
I have the "Touratech" ones, which are pressed/machine out of sheet aluminium and look good on black or silver bikes.
Definately fit crash bars. Make sure they will protect the engine cases in a spill. I can vouch for the Touratech ones.
