I personally wouldn't - I don't like the idea of all that trapped moisture between the cover and my nice shiny tank.

I cut holes in my last Bagster on my GS deliberately to let moisture drain out/evaporate after riding in the wet.

Apparently the Idea is like an old pair of Levi Jeans and of course the Tank is plastic
So you should'nt have a problem and it works, got mine Wednesday soaked overnight and it went on like a Dream.
If you ride in all weathers like the UK it gets a soaking anyway

I'm telling you it works....

Fitted mine on the weekend.

Fitted badly to start with but after heating up a bit, much better. Leaving bike parked in the sun-shine to see if that helps a bit.
