BMW 1150GS handguards: do they fit??

I've read several threads where Tiger owners have fitted 1150GS handguards. So off I ran to my local BMW dealer who told me that I wasn't the first person who had asked for them but everyone (well the 2 who had bought them) had returned the guards having found that they couldn't fit them.
So if anyone out there can tell me what the answer is, I shall rush back to BMW to buy a pair to replace the crappy Triumph ones.

Thanks in anticipation

They are not an easy fit

I made up some spacers for the bar ends so the end weights are still on the rubber buffers, I tried to make some brackets for the inner mounting but was never happy with the look so just ended up fitting the BMW ones and twisting the guard to fit

Its to a '05 955 Tiger. Doesn't sound very promising now..

I've got some Triumph-online ones too. And as hand guards they are great but I really want something to keep the wind/weather off as well.

I replaced the lousy stock guards on my '06 with a pair from an Adventure today (same as 1050GS guards)

They fit quite well without any modification. Some careful cable routing is required.

I will try and replace the stock bolts that secured both the brake/clutch levers and stock guards. The BMS guards do not use those bolts, leaving them a little long. Still work fine, just look a bit ugly.

I've ordered the Touratech spoilers that fit on to the GS guards. Those extend the protection even further.

This is a good mod. Makes a meaningful improvement in protection.

Is this too obvious?

Check these guys out: http://www.barkbusters.net/
Might give you some ideas on brackets, wind deflectors etc?
