Steering Damper

Hi,

I'm looking for a steering damper for my Tiger 1050.
Any idea what could be installed on the beast ;-) ?

(Hyperpro does not has a damper yet)

I think the Matris will fit-I just took one off my Speedy -it bolts to the two top radiator mounting lugs on the frame under the triple clamp and to the right hand fork tube-very slick install. They work too! (It looks like it will fit but I have not actually tried it.-lazy)
I will try it if you would want to buy mine for $450-lemme know

Really ?

Thanx for the info but up to now I didn't find any product fitting the Tiger 1050.
The Matrix looks really great but is would not risk spending this kinda money on a "should probably fit" damper. No hard feelings ;-)

Steering damper

Don't take this the wrong way, but the first thing that pops into my head is why would you need one? The 1050's a fairly stable bike to start off with, seemingly whatever way you ride it, and steering geometry is nowhere near your typical sports bike.

I don't know how you ride but after riding 4 year with a Honda Fireblade with steering damper I feel the Tiger is kinda "wobbling" when riding really hard with it.

Maybe your bike has other issues.

No steering damper

FantomasRR3, you could probably find one to fit, however you should remember that the Tiger in any of it's variants is no Fireblade and will never be. Even though it can be ridden very aggressively, you will need to change the way you ride to make it really sing in the twisties.

If you believe you need a damper, before you spend your hard earned cash on one, it would be wiser to make sure all your suspension is set up for you personally and that the stearing head is in good condition. Yes, the steering head bearings can go pretty early in life, especially if the bike has sat for a while in a dealer lot or on a boat or wharf somewhere, or you ride in the rain a lot. It's happened, and a bad bearing will effect the way it handles under pressure.

In my time on the Tiger forum, I don't think anyone has actually asked this question.
