Pic's are now posted in the tiger album, one in the hugger section and one in the exhaust section.

Jim has managed to put the pic's side by side so you get a good comparison of the standard and my modified one.

personally, I think I prefer the original shape and looking at this pic, I would say the useless crap flap is doing a decent job of keeping the crap away from the shocker. Next time she is filthy take a similar pic to compare

Now how did I know you were going to say that.

Actually, I had the bike out yesterday and the suss' unit is no dirtier than it would be had the flap still been there. And I made the point of going on dirty country roads, where the surrounding fields are being ploughed, which means lots of crap on the road.
One benefit of removing the flap, is, that you can see the unit and surounding area much easier now, which makes cleaning it a doddle. Now where's that power washer.

So all in all mission acomplished.

I am only going on the posted pics m8. when you look at the one above the crap flap is coated. If that was not there then it has to go all over the shocker, hence my point, it is doing its job. I am pretty sure if you enhance the pic to show detail in the shadow behind the flap the shocker will be pretty ****ed clean looking.

Fellas,

would a second hand daytona/sprint hugger fit on a steamer? Just a thought and was wondering if anyone had tried?

I know ultimate option is to buy the right one but...... :???:
