TOR installed

Picked up the new TOR exhaust today and got it installed. Moving the heat shield took the most time. Went for a short run and am liking the new sound. Tiger goes grrrrrrrrr now.

Just out of curiousity what all did you have to remove to install the pipe? It looks fairly straightforward just looking at the bike.

Just the lower bracket on the pipe and the bolt that holds the bracket on the back of the silencer. All slides off then.

Drilled out the rivits on the heat shield. Than ended up using rivits to reattach to silencer. That took awhile to do. Couldn't get the rivits supplied by Triumph to pop. Ended up having to cut the gun off one and grinding the head down. I know others say they have used screws but thought might be to easy for them to vibrate loose.

If a rattly heat shield annoys then it will be worth buying a pop rivet gun and a stock of rivets. I find that the aluminum rivets stretch and loosen off, causing the heat shield to rattle. If I was fussy I'd re-rivet it every year.

Best to use self tappers into those spiral spring retainer thingies (whatever the proper name is) that clip nicely over the braket holes.

I just got my tor installed with tune today. I am VERY pleased with the result! Runs much smoother and seems to have a little more pep. The sound is very nice without being offensively loud. Nice growl. I wonder how the TOR compares to a Blue Flame as far as sound?

The dealer had to charge up my battery since they said you have to have the lights on to load the tune and it had drained the battery somewhat.
Does that sound "normal'?

Bloody rain & cold swung back in, so I'm going to wait until tomorrow to run her some more to make sure the battery is strong. Not to mention to listen to her new vocal chords too!

Yep it's normal. The lights will suck a battery quick. Always have mine on battery tender so I have a full charge before heading out and about.

Love my TOR. Really nice sound but not to bad when you get her up to speed. Wife hasn't ridden with me since I did the install, will see what she thinks when she is on the bike.

It is normal to turn on the ignition as the ecu has to be powered up to load the tune. It is also normal for the dealer to pull out the headlight fuse so your lights don't needlessly drain the battery.
