Hi,

Does anyone know how much the normal handguards cost. I've scuffed mine.

Don't know which model Tiger you have but as a guide this page

http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmot...-below/o/m6915

shows them at $30 each side.

Cheap Tiger rider here.....
If the handguards get scuffed, they can be cleaned up nicely with a heatgun. If you knock down any big scrapes with sandpaper and carefully use the heatgun set on "high" you'll be pleasantly surprised at how smooth and glossy the finish will be in seconds! They may not be absolutely perfect, but only another Tiger pilot will know for sure. I have actully welded cracks in the handguards using a soldering iron and then done the heatgun thing with great results. I looked into buying new ones and the price put me off, bigtime!

Scuffed! Scuffed you say? My goodness me old boy, battle scars! Leave em like they are and do what Tuscon says if they really bug you, but let your girl have some character!

I just bought a new handguard for my 06 and it cost £19.26 from the Triumph Dealer.

A bit expensive I know, but some of us just do not like battle scars!

I must admit that I like the battlescars each mark reminding me of a laugh or place in the past, If you want to go different some guys have fixed GS Guards to there Tigers with a bit of modification or like me go for the solid guards from Triumph tiger online. These things are great, there a solid attachment not flimsey like the originals and will save your clutch and brake lever if you drop it

Also great for getting the odd van mirror if they have got a little close !!!!!!!

Remove the scars of battle. Are you mad. People pay good money to have decent scars put on their handguards. Mine had some really serious looking gouges on them when I sold the bike and the dealer thought they were great.

Battle scars - my hand guard says Northern Ireland, May 2007. Why do they make roads with such a steep camber? Stop, foot down - and down...

Why bother replacing them?
You're going to scuff them again in the future is all.
