IMHO, you would be doing your engine a favor by leaving the stock sprocket on the bike. I have ridden my 790 bonnie all day between 5000 and 5500 rpm and gotten 50+ mpg. I ride the Tiger the same way and I get 50+ mpg on it...I just have not ridden it as far due to a bad weather year. The Tiger is smoother, has loads of torque...I just can't understand the desire to try to make it run at low rpm like a V-Twin; but then, I can't understand that with the bonney twins either.
