Does anyone know of a relatively flat tankbag that will fit our beauties? I used to tour with an Eclipse that had a clear map pocket on top and lots of great features (converted into backpack, had detachable pockets, etc.).

I'd like a bag for the Tiger's tank which

a) isn't as tall as Triumph's
b) has a map pocket
c) is readily detachable
d) does not need to fit a week's worth of gear.

Triumph's looks like it'll make an already tall bike even heavier up top--no thanks.

Thanks for any advice!

Hey BigStripey, thanks! Do you have/have you ever had one; and if so, which? How's the fit on your Tiger?

RidinGaijin,

I have used Baglux on both my Tigers. The tank cover does a superb job of protecting the tank paintwork from any damage that may occur by using a tankbag on a long tour. It is also great just to use the cover during our filthy English wet horrible winters

The Tankbags are easy to fit and secure down, but by undoing two metal clip fasteners, the back of the bag pivots up to allow quick access to the tank filler.

They are available in coloured matched leather/vinyl and also have the cool Tiger stripes on it! I have found them to be 100% reliable.

If you check out my album, you will see both tigers in pack mule mode :-D

P.S.......I went with the 'Quasimodo' hunchback 'Dzeta' bag for volume, but as you have seen there are many models of bag to choose from. All of which fit the tank cover harness.

I was looking at this bag also. When mounted on a Tiger, does the top of the bag tilt forward very bad (like I see on some other bikes) or is it relatively flat?

I got Touratech's 25 litre (055-1060) for Christmas (boy am I loved ;o) ...) It's superb. It carrys my camera gear and has two side pouches that'll carry much more than just change and it doesn't obscure the clocks. It also has a detachable map pocket. Unzip the top and it expands if you really need the full capacity.

hey friend,

I saw the bag I now have at a british rally in the mountains of North Carolina. It is made by Marsee and I believe it is the 1.5 liter bag. Looks sharp, stays right in position and is very easy on off and putting gas in the tank. I go nearly everywhere with it. Good map cover on top. Room enough inside for sunglasses, wallets, hat, a couple of small liquids, and a shine cloth, etc. I am very pleased. About $120. Can sometimes catch them on ebay

Safe journeys
