Calsci windscreen

I ordered and installed the tall Calsci windscreen for my 2007 tiger after trying first triumph's stock then touring model. The Calsci windscreen is much larger than both triumph screens and exhibits much less buffeting at freeway speeds. I am now able to ride with my visor up on California freeways at 65 to 80mph which was not possible before.

Good job

That's impressive, did you get the +9 or +7 screen?

I ordered the +9". It does change the look of the bike because it is quite tall but is also very effective.

+7 or +9

I did their size selection method here:
http://www.calsci.com/motorcycleinfo...ng.html#Height
It quickly became obvious that based on my ridding eye level that the +7 would still allow for seeing over the shield while the +9 would mean having to look through it.

Thanks Paul for the info.

I am 6'1". I was riding again today and actually exceeded the CA speed limit by a few mph and still no buffeting. CalSci did a great job with the +9" windscreen.

Makes my riding experience quite enjoyable.

Thanks

I'm 5'8"...got my +7 Calsci yesterday and installed it today and tested it at speeds well over the posted limits.

At first I didn't notice much of a noise reduction--buffeting has not been a problem for me with either the stock or Triumph Touring screens--riding at speeds up to 80 mph. Then, I turned toward the sun and realized I hadn't put my face-shield down, yet.

This screen is a keeper in my book. I guess looks are in the eyes of the beholder or whatever...anyway, I like the looks of the Calsci better than either the stock or Triumph Touring screens. The 1050 is not a sport bike, and the sport bike type screens look out of place on it, IMHO. The 1050 is tall, the rider sits up-right, the mirrors are rather high, and the tail bag is high...so to me the +7 Calsci looks very good on the bike.

Does the picture of the lovely young lady come on the screen too? Not sure SWMBO would be too impressed with that...

Depends on how you ride it.

Anyway, thanks for your writeup. Though I have no problems with the stock screen, I think I would like a 7" Calsci for my longer road trips to take some wind off shoulder and helmet.

Based on the the few pictures I have seen, I think the Calsci looks just fine on the Tiger.
