I'm about to pull the trigger on an 07 tiger and wondered about the choice between the Triumph luggage and after market stuff. I've heard that the Triumph luggage is as water tight as a sinking ship. But they have made attempts to improve it... conversely, Givi and many other manufacturers have been doing a great job for years. And the aftermarket stuff is actually cheaper than the triumph luggage. So why not just go for the Aftermarket stuff... any opinions out there.

Also... is ABS worth the extra? Or is it the proverbial life jacket that you never use, but pay extra for?null

OEM kit is nice and color coordinated, but it is small and the right side is cut-out for the exhaust. There also seem to be some security issues in that the bags can be removed without a key if you know the trick. It's also quite expensive.

I went with a Givi V46 topbox with a SW-Motech Alu-rack and am quite pleased with the result. Likely I'll add Givi sidecases at a later date. The issue with the SW-Motech sideracks is that they hold the cases pretty far from the bike on both sides. I invite you to check out postings at tiger1050.com for a lot of info and pics.

ABS is your call. Some people swear by it. My bike doesn't have it. I rode a Sprint with ABS and didn't like how the rear activated so soon under normal braking conditions.

The side bags look great, the top bag looks silly when removed.. Non of the luggage has any real usable space and non will hold a FF helmet..

ABS is a total waste of money until you need it...
Worth every penny from my perspective..
