i have a 2004 Daytona that i made a set of custom stainless frames that mount up Givi hard bags. i have a few posts in the Daytona forum that i posted on the making of my custom frames. i have been asked to make a few sets for the Daytona owners. they will be made out of mild steel because the prices of Stainless have went thru the roof. my local Triumph dealer suggested that i make a frame for the new 1050 Tiger. i will make these frames in the not to distant future because i plan on owning a new Tiger. i have been bitten by the new 1050...what a awesome bike. the frames that i made only weighs a few pounds per side. i plan on selling these as soon as i get a first one made that i can use it as a template. the frames will mount to existing frame holes, there will be no need to alter your bike to use these frames. the frames will most likely be powder coated black. i will see if i can get the local dealer set up to sell Givi bags, that way i can offer a complete package...frames and bags of your choice. or just frames by themselves. please tell me if there are any special things that you would add to a frames. on my bike i still have to make a frame that covers the rear seat. i plan on making it so i can store bulk items such as tents and sleeping bags. tell me what you guys would want in a complete system...here are a few pics of my frames that i made for my bike...these pics are just to show the thought and simplicity of my frames......

Hi Dano,
I like the looks of your bag frames, they look real nice. How do you plan on handling the high exhaust on the right side on the Tiger? I think this is the one thing holding some Tiger owners from buying aftermarket bag mounts, because they need to protrude out so far from the bike to accommodate the exhaust, while the factory (undesirable) bags incorporate a cutout to custom fit the exhaust. I will be watching this thread though, as I do have some interest in your product. I have also posted a link to this thread on Tiger1050.com for you and some of the other Tiger owners you might be looking for a solution: Tiger1050 forum

thanks for the reply...and the link. my friend owns a local Triumph shop, so i have a source of info and bikes to measure from. the high mount exhaust will determine the distance from the bike. both sides will be the same distance from the bike. i know that Givi makes a set of bags that are made with the cut-out you talk of. i don't know if i will have a frame that is made to accept that type of bag...unless that is the biggest demand. if that is the system that the Tiger owners want...then i will look into that type of bag/frame system. the main reason that i would keep it simple and do the frames that i have, is so that with the basic frame that i want to offer it could accept a bunch of different brands of hard bags. you would be able to take my generic frame and mount the different locking frames from the manufacture of your choice. please let me know, what you as Tiger owners want in a system. i have the plan to make a rack that attaches to the two side frames and covers the rear seat. i envision a top rack that could just be used to strap down bulk items like tents and sleeping bags. this top rack could also be used to mount a top hard case. the top rack that i speak of would take the rear seat away from use. i guess that i could design a rear top rack to be able to ride a pillion and still have a top case. its the little details that i want to hear about, i built the rack for my bike to suit MY needs and now i want to be able to adapt my frame to other bikes and have all the different details covered. i, as a Daytona owner have different needs than you Tiger owners.....let me know.....
