Interesting point.... I have never contemplated a steering damper because of the big wide bars, i don't seem to have any issues with the old girl shaking her head at all ??

Have you experienced this then ?, why go for a damper ?

I cannot remember (but i am getting older and the memory fades a bit  ) anybody here fitting a damper before ??

I was thinking about damper as well, since using Dunlop D607 tires, I am experiencing steering vibrations when going over 110mph ... good damper would eliminate these.
Have you got a link for Scotts steering damper ?

I run knobbies on my bike. TKC front and Mitas in the rear. When I am fully loaded with my Happy Trails panniers I experience lots of shaking side to side in higher speed. The only way I can stabilize the bike is standing up. People usually look at me funny when I pass cars standing up at 100 mph.

Mitas tires in States ? wow These are manufactured in the city a live amazing.. thought these Tires are not very good, but extremely cheap. ( here $50 for rear tire)

I am on my second set. I didn't find a better rear tire than Mitas yet. It lasted me twice as long as TKC and traction is really good. The front tire on the other hand, does not last as long. I have to ship them from overseas or a distributor in Canada. Shipping from Europe is cheaper than from Canada. :hammer:

Yesterday I called Scotts and they do not offer any mounting kits for Tigers, so I went to my friend's machine shop and we made the top mounting bracket for the damper. Here are few pics of it :

Now we just have to make a bracket for the pin. Hopefully we can get to it tomorrow.

Yesterday I went to my friend again and we finished the bracket. Today I took it for a test ride and what a difference. The bike is stable at any speed with my HT panniers in windy conditions and knobbies on. It feels like it's on rails. The best improvement for the money. Now I just have to test it off road.
