It's no dirt bike but it is a very good dualsport.

Perhaps you should ask this guy what he thinks:

Beeing "this guy" I have to say: You are right. The Tiger is no dirt bike and will never ever be. It is about 100 kg too heavy for beeing a dirt bike. And if you take it into anything more difficult than a hard packed dirt road, you have too be totally nuts! :knkknk:

I know what I say, because I am totally nuts! :jest:

This picture was taken at this event.

Well, to me it's not the bike that sets the limits. It's the rider. The more nuts he is, the more is possible... :-D

Have fun!

Patrick

PS: The cast wheel Tigers and the wire spoked ones are basically he same. So everything that ist possible with a 1999-2004 Tiger should be possible with a 2005-2006.

It's entirely down to your own feelings of confidence and whether you want to risk damage. It's probably wise to invest in a decent bash plate, wrap-around hand guards and some more encompassing engine protection (I use crash bungs).

Oh, and politely ask your pillion to get off...and perhaps you should remove all of your luggage too....and make sure the tank is less than half-full. Every time I think 'should I take my nice shiney Tiger off road?' I remember that guy who travelled the world on an R1. You can even do it on an 07. End of!
