Curious if anyone has figured how to make both headlamps function on low beam?? Is it the same as the earlier tigers to fix?? Looked under the left hand fairing panel but no wiring in there. Have fitted fat bars to the bike today a good conversion and got rid of the ugly chrome push bike bars fitted standard. Also has anyone fitted the new radiator/ oil cooler guards as yet? [list]

My understanding is that both lights are single beam bulbs so if you have both on by definition you have the brights on.

I have seen discussions, I think on Tiger1050.com concerning the optics of the lenses not even allowing you to change out the light fitting so you can put a dual filament bulb in.

This is true? No dual headlights on the U.S. model?

Just when, after seeing the new ones, I was thinking they were kinda cool... Now, no twin headlights?

I think I'll have to pass on the new model, when it's time for another bike. To me, there's nothing geekier-looking, or more useless, than a single-sided headlight bike.

might as well get used to it....with EU regs, et al. will be seeing all dual headlite motorcycles set up like this. at least the tiger1050 has some nic bright running lites included in the headlite module.

Both head lights on the 07 Tiger are single bulbs the low beam is a H7 and high H9.

If you realy wanted you could wire a relay in so both come on and then adjust the high beam down a bit.

Nah... I want dual headlights, with twin elements. I'd rather take both bulbs out and only ride it in the day, as use a jury-rigged single/high/low/simultaneous solution.

If Triumph wants to sell these bikes in America, they need to re-think this. They need a U.S. one, with twin-element bulbs. We don't have these ridiculous Euro-guidelines on motorcycle headlights, and from the number of Europeans who switch their bikes over to dual-headlight mode, I don't know how it ever got fostered on you.

With this dumb kind of headlight set-up, you couldn't give me one of these new models. I'd be riding along, thinking how stupid it looked to be on a new bike, with one headlight burned out. I can just hear helpful grandmothers and teenagers, as I'm pulling into a parking space at the shopping center, pointing out that I need a headlight. And although they don't often do it to motorcycles in this country, you CAN get pulled over at night, for having a headlight out. I've been through some local-yokel town, and had it happen. I don't think I'd like to try explaining European headlight systems to some redneck sheriff, out to grab a little cash flow for the city by pulling over strangers.

A while back, I noticed somebody wondering what nickname to call this new model. Well, I have it: Steamers, Girlies, and now the Euro-Geek. Thank goodness I've got a Girlie, because until a fix or change is provided, you won't see me on the new ones.

JRO,

Here here, Brother !!!!

I couldn't agree more. twin headlights are safer than one.

More light on the road, and more easily seen.

All this "It looks like a car's headlights at a distance" is absolute rubbish (IMHO).

Someone on here should take up the challenge and do the twin conversion.

Regards,
Graeme.

Well, it's foolish. Sure, at night, at distance, I admit I have noticed that occasionally a dual-headlight bike can fool you into thinking it COULD be a car. As everyone knows, this is quickly dispelled, as the distance closes. I have no idea why any English motorcycle company would put two headlights on a bike, in a one-headlight country. "Silly', is the word that comes to mind. Either make 'em both work, provide the option, or go back to a single light.

... Of course, as we all know, there are no foolish rules or regulations or design engineering, in America.
