the one thing thats bugged me with my Tiger is seeing the indicator and neutral lights on a sunny day !! and at night reading the speedo !! :???:

2x (286) Dash Board Slim wedge bulb Green (New Brighter) £1.47

1 x U501WHP (501) 12-16v Ultra High Power Wide Angle 1W White Led Bu £4.99

from ultraleds.co.uk !!

what a differance and the speedo now has a slight blue tint to it, i know what your thinkin !! why didn`t you change the rev counter bulb when you were in there ??

I did buy two of the wide angle 501`s and when i pulled the rev counter out, it has a different size bulb in it :???: !! it has a 286 !!

so take note of this for your refference, this is for a silver frame 05 model.

KK

ps remember that if you do change your bulbs to led`s, do colour for colour, green lens, green led, blue lens, blue led and so on. also led`s can only go in one way so dont throw it away if it dont work, take it out , turn it a half turn and put it back in again, if it dont work now you can chuck it

Nice find kenny. Using your code for the LEDs I have just bought a pair of greens for the useless indicator and neutral dash lights.

Thanks

Hi,

I plan to change mine following your recommendations.

Which one would you advise for the rev counter, my judgment is:

(286) Dash Board Slim wedge bulb White.

Is this correct?

Regards

Chris

Hi Arrybash, been away from my puter for a few days ( dun me back in ) just a strain i hope !! the size is right ( 286 ) but i would look and see if they do a wide angle white zenon or similar. i couldn`t believe it when i took the rev counter out and it was a different size bulb :???:

you will love the speedo at night !!

KK

ps if you have a wobble or flexy shaft for your socket set it will help loads !! the nut size is 8mm and there`s a washer and rubber grommet on each. to help get the bulbs out, get a piece of soft rubber tube or a band, this will help grip the bulb. remember and try the lights before you put every thing back together.

have fun, its worth it !!

pps (286) Dash Board Slim wedge bulb White (New Brighter) £1.49

i cant find anything brighter on there site.

I also wish to copy your dash light update. I found the units for the indicator and neutral but was confused with the 501 as most have multiple led option and one with four white and one blue. Also could not find the 286 you mention for the Rev Counter.

Can you do me a favour and list again which you purchased and recommend. It may be that prices have changed as I was cross checking your list with the prices.

Cheers

Adrian

Hi, just checked there site and the code has changed so have edited the first post.

if you go to ultraleds and scroll down the page there`s a Quick Find !! type in.....

286 green

286 white

501 Ultra High Power Wide Angle

and match the bulb with my code. just be aware that i never tryed the 286 white as i thought it took a 501, but it will be brighter than the standard bulb and you may as well change it when your in there !!

its easier if you can open two web brousers !! 1 for this site and 1 for ultra !!

KK

back 2 bed now as my backs still killin me

Great tip KK.

Just got my LED's all the way from Ultraleds, UK to Oz. They should put you on commission.

It's the best mod I've made to my Tiger since I got it a year ago.

Many thanks for the tip.
