I solved the same problem with some home made 'L' brackets.
I cut 8 lengths of 1" wide bar about 4" long.
I welded them to make 4 'L' brackets.
I then drilled holes at the ends to suit the M10 bolts, a quick coat of black hammerite and the problem was solved.
You need two per footrest to clamp either side of the frame hanger. As you tighten up the footrest bolts, it bends the brackets as they clamp together.
The design drops the footrests about 3" and also moves them marginally forward. Only minor snag is the clearance to activate the centre stand has been reduced.
Wifes much happier now.
