I assume some of you have mounted highway pegs. I've mounted Touratech engine guards and would like to get some highway pegs. Any suggestions?

Funny you have asked.....I wanted to mount highway pegs on my Tiger for my 4500 mile ride this June and I was just about tar and feathered by my fellow riding group for even thinking about putting them on my Tiger......

I put them on any way and it really helps with the long distance travel. I too have the Tourtech engine guards and I bought some folding highway pegs with the 1 inch clamps. Make sure you get the 1 inch clamps and not the 1 1/4 inch. I mounted them just below the Tourtech cross bar. I bought a rubber plumbing cap at the local hardware store and cut a strip to go onto the guard bar and then put the clamps over the rubber piece so I would not scratch the engine guards up. I also sanded, primered and then painted the pegs gloss black so they would blend in with the bike better.

It looks great and works even better.

I use the Happy Trails system. Works wonders.

I've removed my passenger footrest and am working on clamps for my HG bars. With the pegs folded up you can hardly tell they are mounted there.

Just curious, why did your buds give you grief? Is it a macho suck it up and suffer thing? Or was it about how they look?

If I had the HT bars, that's the way I would go. I guess I'll get some 1" clamp on pegs.

Jim,

Thanks,
I'm to much of a spud to figure out how to attach pics in this forum.

What would we do without you.
