Question 06 Tiger and Short legs!

Now then, being vertically challenged, I have fitted a Hagon short shock for the short bloke!, but would still like a little more (no jokes please!) The seat seems to have plenty of padding and I was wondering if anyone has actually had thier own seat resculptered, whilst I am confident as is, having just done a tour of the french d-day landing sites, some of the gravel roads made me realise that I either were platform boots, or lower the seat a little more.

So if anyone can recommend a good company to chop my seat about I would apprecaite it... Cheers, Dave.

Ps selling the bike is not an option!!!

You say you have lowered the rear with a Hagon. Have you droped the front up through the tripple tees? If you have the seat is a good option.

This is not a dig, so please don't take it the wrong way, but why would anyone buy a bike that is too tall for them ?

The Tiger is quite a handfull even for quite tallish riders.

Just interested that's all

Have you tried high heels ? - thought I'd get that one in before anyone else does

Short legs!

Whilst standing at @ 5'8" it's my inside leg that is the challange, I can get both feet on to the ground at the same time, just not flat footed, maybe it's me, but just a little more ground contact would be nice....as for the high heels! well the last pair broke whilst doing a little green lane riding! so thought it best to stick to regular boots.

Seat Adjustment

I have the 06 Tiger 955i. I had someone a a bike shop try to lower my seat. When he got into it noticed it had a gell pad in it around 1", i had them take it out. Wish i hadn't since long rides aren't so nice on my rear. He also trimmed the front curve since a lot of foam could be cut out there. I have a 29" seam and put the Hagon shock on that lowered it 1" that seemed fine for me, not flat footed but good enought... Good Luck. Jacques

On my '97 I removed enough seat staples to allow pealing back the front half of the seat cover then carved out a few inches of foam with an electric kitchen carving knife. After this I glued in a small gel pad purchased through one of the many internet vendors. Pull back and restaple the seat cover and your done. The seat's now a bit lower and much more comfortable than stock.

I got the seat down about another 10mm by following the instructions given on the following link.
Lots of good stuff about the Tigers on this site.
Every little helps. Hope it works out for you.

Hi Chapperz, did you shorten either your side stand or main stand after fitting the hagon shock?

Short Legs!

Hi, Yes I shortend both, although I did purchase a secondhand side stand so that I could when I sell the bike offer both the original shock and sidestand.
