Scracthed Top Yolk

Hi,

Has anyone found a good way of either covering or removing key scratches from around the yolk of a '02 955i, have searched the net for a cover but can't find one for the tiger, any ideas ?

I don't think there is a solution out there ?? I dspilled some brake fluid on to mine and did'nt spot it until next day when i looked down and saw the coating all bubbled and wrinkled. Now got a patch about 1" x 1 1/2" which is nice clean aluminium. Only option is to pull the darn thing off and either get it blasted and re-coated or paint it i guess ?

I've seen carbon fiber look-alike type plastic stuck to one.

OK-I have no idea how this will translate from American into English. There's a type of tape that's like electrical tape but used to wrap pipes before you bury them. It's about 2" wide and twice as thick as electrical tape. I use it for various stuff around the shop, including putting it on the top of the triple clamp to stop the key marks and jingling. It has stuff written on the tape, but Goof-Off or other petroleum-based cleaners will remove the writing. Does that help?
