White Tiger mods completed Saturday

I had a busy Saturday as I started with the MODS on my '08 White Tiger!

I installed a lowering kit I got from Pure Triumph, this lowered the bike 1 1/2 inches. I also raised the fork tubes 18 mm in the yokes. I can now place both feet flat on the ground instead of on the balls of my feet. It does make it a little harder to place on the center stand. The side stand won't have to be shortened either, just need to be careful as it is in a more upright position now.

The Corbin seat I ordered finally arrived. I had it shipped to the Ormond Bch. store in case of fitting issues. GOOD thing I did, because it took over an hour of modifying by 2 of Corbins techs to get it to fit properly. Seat tab would not reach bracket on tank!

I ordered a large oval back rest for my wife's comfort and it works great and is removable!
The seat is firm and will take some "breaking in" but should be great for 2 up riding.
I think I will have Sargents modify my stock seat for single riding as I have seen pictures of some they have done and they look good.

I also, with the help of a friend, installed my SW/ Motech crash bars and am happy with the fit and finish of them. You need 2 sets of hands to get the job done and it can be a pain in the arse trying to get a wrench (spanner) in some of the locations!

I also installed a set of ROX risers (quality parts) that raise my bars 2 inches and can be swiveled back and locked up to 1 inch. This gives me an upright sitting position which my "old bones" really needed!

I'm waiting to hear from PJ's when the MIVV pipe I want will be available in the states. They have come out with some nice looking, sounding, and great performance stats pipes for the 1050 Tiger. At 61 yrs. of age, you think I would forget about performance items, but my "old butt" still gets up and down poles for "Ma Bell" after 42 yrs. and I like the kick I get out of twisting the throttle on this bike, reminds me of my younger flat tracking days!

I think I will leave it alone and just ride it for a while after I get the pipe and TOR tune done!?!

Have I said how much I LOVE this bike!!! Jamie

Okay Dad,

Let me help you out. Here are pics of the mods "Hogus" did to his bike over the weekend. He installed crash bars, a Pure Triumph lowering kit, bar risers, lowered the front forks, and new Corbin seat with back rest.

Did you say you guys lowered the front forks 18mm? If so, is that too much?
I've heard of people recommending lowering no more than 15mm. Not sure though.

Hogus and Jax,

Nice work! The bike looks great. The one thing I did to mine after installing the same crash bars, was I painted the large silver bolt up near your knee to flat black. But I have the all black Tiger, so it fit in with mine. Your bike looks fantastic. Enjoy.

PS They were a royal pain to install.

Thanks for the reply! I bought some Krylon flat black paint and painted the small screws that hold the Triumph power socket to the frame as I heard that they rust quickly, and so far they are holding up quite well! I might do the same to the bolt heads on the crash bars.

Enjoy your Tiger,I sure am enjoying mine!! Jamie
