Vario on the way

Well just got notice from twisted throttle that my Vario screen has been shipped. Looking forward to trying it out.

Right now have a Cee Bailey #2 +8 mounted. Man that's a big screen. So far have noticed some improvement. The wind seems to strike the top of my helmet. Does block a lot of wind so I get hot but will be a great love bug stopper. Because of it's size it may not be a good choic during the Florida summers.

R.T.

Let us know how you get on with the Vario, as you will know by now it's the holy grail of Tiger ownership - getting rid of the buffet.

I personally never have a problem getting rid of the buffet . Gives me dreadfull wind if I eat too fast though.

ChazzyB, sounds like a beans, bangers, and mash issue.

Recently added the MRA vario, huge improvement over the triumph tall screen and the stocker.

No buffeting up to 90mph.

when looking through posts on windscreens one thing is clear
There is no nirwana on this matter
- its all personal
- depends on hight of the person
- the inseem of the legs
- does the person like much wind
- does he/she care
Me I like the vario. Less buffeting and less noice up to 140km/h . Try that with a stock screen. Still can't drive without earplugs but ......

Sanjoh and WW -- how do you set the wing on your Vario? You both seem to like it a lot, but I'm seeing no improvement over the OE touring screen. If anything, there is more noise and more buffeting on the MRA Vario than my stock setup. I've tried it all the way up, all the way down, and every position in between, but noticed no marked improvement. What's your secret?

I'm 5'10" tall with a 30" inseam.

Cheers! Pete

Up to 80mph, I have it on max all the up and tilted. Above 80mph the buffeting is nasty and I put it all the way down.

Hope this helps.

That's pretty much what I concluded today after riding 300 miles with my local RAT Pack. Above 85 the buffeting in any position was far worse than the OE touring screen. And even wearing earplugs all day my ears are ringing like church bells.

Hmmm, I'm thinking I should have saved my money...

Pete

That's too bad Pete. As posted earlier it's pretty personal. I've got the Vario and it's perfect for me. Smoothes out the wind and I've got clean air. I've got a sport screen for the hot summer days. I'm 5'8 but I'm also running tank panniers, tank bag and mirror wideners. The panniers and mirror wideners do make a difference. It's a great screen that can only work with some people so you should be able to sell it to another person that could use it. Post it on TigerTriple.com and ADV.
