Kappa Adaptor Plate

I have a 2006 955 Tiger. I bought a Kappa adaptor plate to fit a top box. I am having trouble fitting the plate properly. The metal fasters are shaped for a round tube. The existing rack is squared on the bottom. Hence it does not fit well.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Also has anyone fitted a span adjustable clutch lever?

I have a Kappa top box fitted to my '04 Tiger. The 'box came with my previous bike so I don't know how new it is. Have a look at the attached photo to see how I fitted the plate. It is very secure (well it hasn't come off so far....)

Those look like the standard fittings, although the bolts they supply aren't quite long enough. Mine's been on for 3 years without any problems.

I think the Kappa plate and Givi plate are same (seemingly father and daughter business venture in Italy) and the photo looks more or less how my Givi plate is fitted.

Somewhere in the forum this has come up before and they can be found. I seem to recall they were expensive.

We all have the same problem i.e. the span is big.

The trick is to slacken of the adjuster and use thin gloves.

Yes, same experience as Arrybash and iansody have had. The plate for mya 45L Givi is exactly the same and yes, the supplied bolts are too short but easly replaced with longer ones. I checked it regularily after first installed but it never loosened up. Of course a more elegant install would be through holes drilled in the rack, but could not bring myself to do this.
