BigStripey & Silverstripes screens

I've noticed that both bikes have what seems to be an extra solid screen under their windscreens, rising above the row of indicator lights. Is this an extra bolt on piece from Triumph, or was the fairing changed in 2003. My 2002 does not have this item, so if it is an extra, where can I get one!!!

After some searching, it looks like Triumph offered two versions of Tiger fairings. My fairing is "cut down" over the indicator lights, where as most bikes seem to extend a solid section to the upper screen mounting bolts. It would seem that a higher center section would reduce the glare on the dash indicators, making them easier to see in bright light. If you check out my album you can see the odd fairing I have.

I guess the fix, outside of making a homemade mod, would be to shop around for the "full" fairing, and paint it to match.

Weird. I'll call my dealer today and see if he can shed some light on the differences. Any thoughts anyone????

I think the cut down versions we have are weaker. It makes my Eagle screen wobble at speed or with crosswinds. The stock screen is fine, and I am wondering if the MRA Vario at triumph-online will be as sturdy as the stock one? Or does anyone have a solution to put a bar or some other support in there to strengthen it up?

I can't say about anything else but my MRA Vario has been on my '06 for virtually the entire 13k I have on the bike. It doesn't seem to be going anywhere and seems steady at any speed or conditons I've ridden the bike. (Not terribly extreme mind you, but it gets commutted daily and I've run it on week long trips in some variable weather.

I noticed this difference a long time ago when looking at pictures on these forums of screens and GPS mounting points. It seems that the USA models get the cut down version and the Europeans get the higher version. No idea why.
