Givi keyless E41 - anyone got these on their bike?

Just wonder cause I consider buying them. They only come only as 41 ltr though, so I was thinking it might be difficult with the Tiger on the side of the exhaust system. Any opinions on this?

Rgards, E

E41 boxes

Heisann Espen

Not too many of us Norwegians here these days (has Timian come back from his Bavarian indiscretion yet?), so welcome on board.

There's a lot of people here that have E41's on their Tigers, I moved mine from my old 900 to my 1050, and still quite happy with them. The right hand box does stick out a bit, but apart from noticing it on my holiday pictures I've never had a major problem, just be careful with your lane filtering. Boxes are solid and 99% water tight (i.e. I've seen drops of water in them, but never had anything really wet.

On the 900/955 the OEM GIVI rack (PL725) is a really solid piece of kit, which apart from carrying luggage would probably save your bike in the case of a spill. You might want to get a friend to help you putting this on though, it's that stiff that even having to align bolt holes 1-2mm is a major task. The only thing to be careful with is to not overtighten the lugs that hold the boxes - they will split (Givi quite good at giving you replacements though.)

Unfortunately the GIVI rack came out a bit late for the 1050, so I put on removable SW Motech racks instead (still with the E41 boxes), these are good but I miss the solid luggage racks I had on the 900.

Have a look in the album section

and you'll see some of the luggage setups of the rest of the guys here. I think Jim might have the same boxes, so did Tango (who's sadly not with us any more) who changed his bike to underseat exhaust thereby getting the right hand box closer to the bike.

Hope this helps

Thanks

Cool. Then we´re at least 2 Norwegians here. Thanks for the advice. Really helpful. I do worry about that protruding pannier, though. Just found a couple of original ones on ebay so I might go for these even if it means less space for carrying stuff...
