My solution is much cheaper. I put the bike on the centre stand and sit on a stool or the floor when I need to work lower down. As most of my tools end up on the floor, I don't have to keep bending down to get them.

A nice mod, Silverstripes. I've always wondered why you could not buy these specific to your bike.

When you have worked on a bike using a bike lift (of any sort) you never want to go back. I have a more traditional scissor lift design and I use it for almost every job.

I like your mod very much. I have a bike lift like yours bought when I had a Bonneville with no centre stand. I will have to follow your lead and make an adaptor for the Tiger.

Do the front upstands mark the engine paint?

The front upstands do not mark the paint as I have fixed a rubber pad to each one. They are in fact a threaded rod with a plate in the top (large washer). The upstand tube has a nut welded to the top and the rod is wound in. That way each front leg is adjustable to suit the crankcase profile.

Have a go at one yourself !!! I will give dimensions if it is a help.

Thanks, I would appreciate some dimensions. It is easier than trial and error and ending up making two or three before being happy!

The measurements are as follows:
the frams is a basic H shape:

Its 400 mm long from back to front and 300 mm wide

The fixed supports at the rear are 80 mm high with an small "L" plate on the top of each. the front supports are tube and 60mm high with a 50 mm threaded rod wound into a nut welded to the top of the tube to allow adjustment. The front support tubes are welded 70 mm in from the front of the frame.
