Hugger to Australia

After following the recent hugger threads I emailed pyramid-plastics.co.uk about a hugger for my 06 Tiger and they confirmed it was available under their NWS range, part code N076091. However they then said to contact davidcork.com their US dealer because shipping from UK would be very expensive.

Is it really that much more to ship to from UK than the US to Aus? Can anyone here in Aus suggest a hugger supplier ? ... davidcork.com website wasn't active last time I tried.

TJoe...I had to go the long way around to find NWS as the site is not up any longer. Yes, Pyramid Plastics in England, purchased NWS and taken over the manufacturing and have continued making Tiger Huggers. I personally talked to them on the phone. I was given David Cork as the US contact to get my hugger. I have one on order now for my 2002 Tiger. I have personally talked with David on the phone also. Below is his contact information and website from an email I received from him. Hope this helps.....and yes...shipping from the UK is very very expensive in my experience, so I would suggest let David ship you one from the US.

Thanks for clearing that up Globerider2002. The www.davidcork.com site no longer works but still shows up in old forum messages when googled. Interestingly the email contact the Pyramid Plastics supplied was pyramid@davidcork.com

I did get a reply back from Kath Lilley at Jack Lilley in UK and they warned me that shipping would be £40 which is about AU$88 ... Yikes! No way I'm paying that much just for freight!

The search continues.

This thread sort of explains why I don't get any reply to my E-mails to NWS re huggers.

I shall try again, using the info from here. Cheers John.

At the time of my first post the NWS website was still active but I noticed that it no longer connects.

I contacted Davis Cork (contact details as per Globeriders post above) and got a reply the next day as follows ...

Hi thanks for the inquiry Yes we can get you a NWS hugger in black is $185 in silver ghost $225 and in carbon $285 and yes we can ship to Australia at $40. It’s not in stock so I would have to order it be around 2 weeks to me and 7 days to you. If you would like I can send you a pay-pal request for money??Let me know Cheers David

Shipping from US is about AU$45 less than that from the UK. The black hugger actually works out to the same price, AU$207, from Jack Lilley and David Cork.

I looked at www.skidmarx.co.uk and they list the 2004-06 955 Tiger hugger at £80 in fiberglass, quite a bit less than the £95 price from Jack Lilley.

Well, I ordered the hugger from David Cork and exactly as he estimated it arrived at my door 3 weeks later, well packed and undamaged.

Fits well but not perfect, a little closer to the left side of the tyre than the right but still enough operating clearance. The tongue at the front is 1-2 mm from the swingarm cross-brace and will likely rattle a bit when I do the first work commute tomorrow, may have to install a bit of foam.
