Hi all, I'm thinking of getting a Tiger and the last thing I want to do is drop it and damage it. Can anyone let me know what the best crash protectors would be to fit? R&G or engine protector frames? Also, I want to keep the price as low as possible without compromising on the quality.

What do you recommend to fit........if anything?

Cheers

Hi,

Frank at triumph tiger online has been putting these on ebay regularly. There is a set on now.

Tiger Engine Bars

Personnaly I prefer the Touratech ones. They seem to offer more protection, particularly around the tank.

I don't see any point in buying cheaper bars if they do not do the job.

Well ,well, well; the bottom pics on that site you posted Kuzz are of my bike! I wonder how they got there! Anyway, they are Fehling bars. Had to get mine direct from Germany, as there wasn't an Australian seller. I'm really happy with them. They were by far the cheapest option for me.

Hi all,
I also fitted the Fehling bars engine bars to my Tiger.

A couple of weeks ago I got to try them out.

My neighbour (who is a builder) was rebuilding my garage that got demolished by a refuge bin lorry. My builder managed to reverse into my bike, knocking it over onto it's side.

The Fehling bars engine bars did take the worst of the impact and so did the handguard. The tank was protect, but only just, as the bars bent round and nearly touched the tank.

I will be replacing the engine bars with a different make next time.

Hi.

I paid £160.00 for the Hepco and Becker bars from Jack Lilley.
They also folded inwards when the bike rolled over in the Ponderosa car park in North Wales one Sunday afternoon.

Embarrassing as it was for me in front of such a large audience of bikers, the fall was not as severe as having a builders van reverse into it.

They did stop the tank from hitting the ground though, but only just!... I wonder if the extra money I paid for these H&B bars was justified?

TF.

Ouch tigerfeet...........

With money being at a premium and you saying that the others bent as well I think I'll go for the cheaper ones. I don't plan on dropping the bike but you never know.

Scary thing is picking it up tomorrow without them being fitted and having an 80 miles ride home.

Fingers crossed

I know how you feel I dropped mine filling up at a tiger run.

Thunderbike bars saved almost everything, because it fell against the pump island the footrest broke.
