When I raise my ass about 4" off the seat of my Tiger 1050 my head is in still calm air. I am waiting for the lowering brackets to come in before I decide on windscreen options. It seems to me to get in the still air I need to go smaller and not taller on the windscreen. The stock screen is already quite small. Ideas?

Cut the screen down about three inches. Find a larger aftermarket screen, for when you want to get out of the wind.
I doubt lowering your bike is going to change the windflow around your head. I'd go ahead and chop the factory screen, or try some other solution.

If you look in the member galleries at Tiger1050.com, there are some pics from a guy named Motardus (or something similar) in which he chopped down the touring screen and painted the inside of it black. It looks really nice.
It's too bad they don't offer a color-matched Sport Screen like they did with the Tiger 955i. Maybe they didn't sell enough of them to continue that option, I don't know.

I incrementally cut my 1050's standard screen down until there was no more to chop off -- I'm actually into the black edging on either side. It got better with each increment, and now my helmet is in blissfully quiet air. I'm going to do the black spray paint too, as soon as I can find one of those round tuits.

Thanks guys for all the suggestions. Gustafson told me this morning to completley remove the screen and use stiff cardboard increasing the height till the helmet roar starts then cut it down from their. Man I am now ecouraged I will not have toos ell it. I love everything about the bike except for the wind noise.

Is it easier to cut the screen down with it on the bike or off?

Instead of cutting the windscreen, I am going to experiment with some spacers at the bottom screen mounting holes to change the angle of the screen. I believe this is the problem with the screen rather than the height...don't know when I'll get the time to machine some spacers, but when I do, I'll let you know if I have any success.

I think the angle may be part of the problem but I think the screen needs to be more verticle.
At one of the Tiger ride-ins there was a rider on a steamer that had fashioned V shaped brackets installed behind his screen which brought the screen to an almost verticle position and he said this had enlarged the clean air envelope enough to raise the air flow above his head and eliminate all the buffeting.
