I have a question for you guys that have the Thunderbike crash bars. Do the bars interfere with you knees when riding? Do they interfere with your legs when walking the bike when sitting on it?

Thanks! I think the Thunderbike bars look like they're the best-supported bars I've seen on any bike. I just want to make sure the won't be in the way before buying them.

I have had the Thunderbike bars for a couple of years on my 03. I like them. Never a problem with my knees or legs when riding or walking. I am about 5'8".

At 5'11" it wasn't an issue unless the passenger slid forward pushing me toward the tank, which the stock seat encouraged. Now, with a Corbin, we both have more room. Having padded pant knees helps with any bumping. I haven't tested the bars but they seem like they would give more protection to the rider's lower appendages in an event. And I hung some driving lights and double horns on them and still have space for more farkles.

I don't notice the bars when taking my Tiger for a walk.

No knee problems at all, no problems walking, either. They have not only saved the bike numerous times, but they make a great STRONG mount for various things. I have PIAA 910s mounted on the bars, the Nautilus horn fits inside the left bar, and at one point I did have a cupholder mounted, but it was ripped off when gravity defeated me! They also make it really easy to tie the beast down if you should need to haul it on a trailer. A folding cupholder is now on my tank bag!

I'm 6'5'' with freakishly long legs, inseam 36''. If I slide forward my knees can touch the bars occasionally but never have I felt that they interfere with riding. I tested them on a 35-40 mph lowside and they did a wonderful job !
