Sorry I don't know how to search the forum other than going back for hours and hours looking at old posts.

What I want to know about is the pro's and con's about the chain oilers that are out there on the market and how they fit the Tigers?

We have a new 2006 Tiger and I would like to fit a chain oiler to it and think there must be more than one brand out there these days.

I hope this post has as much success as my request for information on pillion peg extensions.

So far this is one of the best forums I have been on for sharing of bike specific information. Cheers John.

I am getting Lubetronics unit soon (waiting for delivery now)
I was choosing between scottoiler and this one and decided for Lubetronics as the instalation will not void my warranty.

Hi slayer, where did you order the unit from?

Have you got a Webb site I can look at?

Everytime I try a Webb search for Lubetronics I just get a lot of rubbish and cant seem to get away from the same pages.

I don't know if you can get this brand in NZ so would have to buy off shore. Thanks, John.

Further to above request for information, have any of you installed a "Pro-oiler" chain lubricator system to your Tiger?

I found a Webb site for this model and it looks like a good one to me.

They show pics of fitting it to a Tiger 955i too!

Any comments or experiences with this one? Cheers John.

Hi

I use a scottoiler.

It fitted under the seat and have found it to be very effective.

Fitting is easy with the supplied "T" piece and after that its a question of routing the feed pipe under the swinging arm.

Works a treat

Auldrider,
I can 2nd Silverstripes comments. I have a 12/04 Tiger and fitted a Scottoiler to it. Took maybe 90mins to do properly, mounted it under the seat as did SS and couldn't be happier. The only downside is that it is a tad grotty on the rear rim, but that is much preferable to all the gluggy poo that collects around the front sprocket when using spray on chain lube.
I may be wrong, and will stand corrected if i am, but i am thinking that Auto Transmission Fluid will be a suitable replacement for the "special" lube that is recommended. After all, ATF is a consistant viscosity oil that will withstand extreme pressures in transaxles.

I have a Pro-Oiler installed on my ST. I've run 14k miles with it installed. It works well, but when touring it is the ideal setup. It applies oil based on wheel rotation. It has a control pad that allows you to increase and decrease the flow on the fly for rain or dirt conditions. You can also give it a manual blast through the control pad. There is a large and small resevoir available. I'd recommend installing your own hall-sensor instead of tapping into the wiring harnes to get the rotation signal.

I don't like auto-oilers. They're messy, and sometimes problematic. Just get yourself a good chain lube, and let it go at that.
