I am in the process of buying a new 06 Tiger. I would like to modify the seat to be narrower so I can get my feet down. The 07 Tiger has a narrower seat and I feel more secure sitting on it. I remember an article in a bike magazine years ago performing a seat reshaping with a razor saw. I don't remember how the cover was reattached. Does any one have some suggestions? A local custom shop will reshape motorcycle seats, but I like to do my own work.

Go to a yard sale and find an electric knife if you don't have one. I use the one we got for a wedding present in 1973. It's the perfect tool for shaping foam, from cutting off big slabs to shaving see-through slivers. The tool I didn't have when I had a seat recovered was the really powerful staple gun that shot really little staples. My electric staple gun could never seat a staple all the way down into the plastic.
