On the second ride out with my new Tiger, it gave the lovely Gabi a love bite. On the second ride out, she put a hole in her wet weather pants.
She's quite short, and I really don't know how she does it, but she had a little slip of the right foot and her calf somehow connected with the unshielded pipe between the pillion peg hanger and the riders heat sheild.
So I made one, just for her. I couldn't have her worried about more burns.
It's 4mm Aluminium checkerplate, uses the footpeg mounting stud and nut and clears the pipe just enough to make it no warmer than the OEM shield on the can. It's a little rough, but does the job of something I couldn't find locally and I had the Aluminium plate at home.
Also made a paddock stand, had some spare 1"steel pipe laying about so welded up a rear stand to lift from the swing arm, sorry, no pics 'cos it's not painted pretty yet!
