Hi everyone, I just put the Triumph aftermarket can on my Tiger and it sounds absolutely fantastic.

One thing that I am not happy with though is that it is marked as NOT FOR ROAD USE.

Several of my friends have told me that this can be polished out but looking at it, it seems to be etched in quite deep.

I would be interested to hear what anyone else has done and whether it really can be polished out.

I am not bothered about an MOT because that is nearly three year away but I am bothered about the old bill. It is a little frustrating though because it is actually not a loud pipe but I would get nicked with it.

I am trying to acquire one of these too - are the police really bothered unless it's proper loud? Could you just cover it up ?

when I had my 955 with Triumphs own race pipe. It passed its MOT no problem. The 'not for roa use' is not that easy to spot.

Most plod are after sports bikes and they dont look at big trial bikes. However round Lancashire and Yorkshire dales they sometimes have VOSA checking the bikes over. These guys will spot it.

I have been stopped several times on my other bikes and although never nicked I have had to change pipes and go to the MOT station for inspection and then take the form back to the police station etc. They just do it on purpose because it causes maximum inconvenience.

Although the tiger bike is not loud is does quite clearly state NOT FOR ROAD USE and that is all my Plod needs to see if he wants to get his quota up.

I have a 2007 Tiger now with Triumph race pipe. The 'not for road use' is on the inside next to the wheel almost impossible to see when clean never mind when full of cack

So

Whats the consensus, How do you polish or "Buff" out the Not for road use.

I too have the after-market can an whilst love the sound I don't want the aggro with plod or MOT.

By the way one plod who runs a Tiger loves the sound.

That is interesting because my NOT for road use is on the outside of the can. If you put the panniers on it does cover it up but most of the time I want to run without the panniers.

Please note guys I said my 2007 Tiger, you know the new one thats just come out.

I have the Triumph race can fitted and the 'Not for Road use' is on the inside on the 2007 model. I know the 2002-2006 model is on the outside.
